How do I safely vacuum near the fringe of my oriental rug without sucking it up?

Fringe damage most commonly occurs from sucking up fringe with the vacuum. Most people will vacuum parallel to the fringe and carefully creep the vacuum as close to the fringe as possible. As soon as the vacuum catches even one strand of fringe it will wrap a large portion of fringe up possibly damaging it. There is a very easy solution for this. Instead of vacuuming parallel to the fringe, vacuum perpendicular to the fringe. By doing this you will be unable to vacuum up your fringe and will no longer have to worry about damaging it during vacuuming it. If you do have damaged fringe we can certainly repair the damage for you! Just call 585-924-8440.
